Boston Strong Dancer

8:00 AM Unknown 0 Comments

On April 15, 2013 two bombs were detonated at the Boston Marathon finish line.

As someone who is from Massachusetts, the Boston Marathon Bombings really hits close to home for me and it's still kind of hard to talk about. I knew people who were at the finish line, I knew people in the marathon, and I knew people who were in the area before the bombs went off. In fact a dear friend of mine who was actually in the area of one of the bombs, left 10 minutes before it detonated and was just out of range of all the shrapnel. It's all incredibly surreal still and quite a major and touchy topic for everyone here, especially now that the Marathon Court Trials are going on.

But today I am not going to discuss the bombing, but a beautiful story from one of the bombing victims. Adrianne Haslet-Davis was a dancer from Boston. She was walking on the sidewalk when she was hit with shrapnel and had part of her left leg amputated. As a dancer her career was pretty much over. That didn't stop her from trying to dance again! After several long months of recovery she was given a prosthetic leg made by MIT designed to help her dance.

Silence Will Fall...

8:00 AM Sarah 1 Comments

I can't remember what this blog post is supposed to be about... Wait... I have a blog? *looks down at arms* *they are covered in tally marks* THE SILENCE!!!!! THEY ARE EVERYWHERE!!!!!

For the fans here that are not Whovians (Doctor Who fans, not "Dweeks", that is just insulting to be called that) This made no sense. To the Whovians, they understood the grave danger and either ran and hid out of pure terror, or they went all River Song on the Silence.

Cancer, you better watch your back!

4:27 PM Unknown 0 Comments

Welcome to Wednesday's post! This is the part of the week where we share news and things of the like. Today's story covers the journey of a little girl and her father. Leah Still was diagnosed with cancer last June. Her dad, NFL player Devon Still had been cut from the Cincinnati Bengals team months prior to the discovery of the cancer. When they saw that it would take surgery to cure her, the Bengals added Still to their roster to help him cover the medical costs of his daughter's fight against cancer.

We'd like to take more time to introduce ourselves, but Mondays can be busy and hectic so I'll cut right to the chase. A few months ago I was going through an old friend's attic when I found a story he wrote entitled "Alexi's Grand Adventure." Curious, I opened it up. This is what I found:
