Scribbles: The First of Many Posts To Come

Hey! Hey, hey, hey!! What. Is. Up!? The sky, duh. Welcome, my friends to the first post of Scribbles. We'd like to take more time to introduce ourselves, but Mondays can be busy and hectic so I'll cut right to the chase. A few months ago I was going through an old friend's attic when I found a story he wrote entitled "Alexi's Grand Adventure." Curious, I opened it up. This is what I found:

Alexi shut her laptop and groped under the covers of her bed. Her eyelids were threatening to clamp shut if she stayed awake another second, so she yanked the cord that shut off her lamp. The day had been busy. She had hung out with friends for most of the afternoon, and then had found out her best friend Georgie had just been severely injured in a car wreck. Georgie was in a coma, and it didn't look all that good. Now that it was well past midnight Alexi could barely think straight about school starting another week tomorrow, and she slipped off into a deep sleep ...

... There is nothing that feels quite like being between the stage of sleep and consciousness, especially when you get the sensation of falling. Alexi jerked up from her bed when that sensation came across her body. The whole ground fell out from under her and she crashed to the ground, bouncing off it a few inches and then landing softly on something that felt like a rubber floor. The fall was padded mostly from the strange floor, but Alexi hardly noticed it as she lay on the ground for a few seconds trying to gain her sense. The floor smelled like rubber but everything around her was white.

She rubbed her eyes and rolled to her knees taking in the strange sight. Her bed lay directly to the left of her, shattered into several pieces of wood enveloped by her blanket and pillows. She was in a sort of cube-shaped room. The only other break from the white light that seemed to glow through the walls was the black line the run along the wall. White arrows flashed along it pointing to a door beaming with gems and rubies.

Alexi stood, shaking, still startled from the fall. For some reason there was no hole in the ceiling where her appeared to have come through. Before She could make a noise a loud voice echoed in the room, reverberating through the walls. The floor rumbled and shook.

"Welcome! Welcome, Alexi. You seem confused but don't worry, most people are when they first arrive. You are in the Room of Arrival, or the RA as we here at Scribbles like to call it. You probably won't believe it at first, but you have been transported here, Now, we have much to get through before your night is complete, so, please enter through the door."

The room stopped moving but Alexi's heart rate increased rapidly. Her blood pounded in her ears and her heart threatened to leap out of her.

"W-w-wait ... wait a minute ..." she stuttered.

Words didn't seem to express the utter shock and fear she was going through. She stared at the glowing door and it seemed to draw her in. It was so shiny, so warm, so...

"Whoa!" she shouted. She was now standing inside the doorway holding the door open. Before her was blackness. Suddenly lights began to flicker and turn on with loud clangs. The new light outlined a long white hallway. Slowly, on either side, pictures began to pop out of the walls as on a TV screen. They showed everything from goofy Marnie memes, to puns about wolves and dogs. Alexi let a small smile escape her lips.

The hall began to shake and the rumbling floor returned. Alexi clutched the wall as the voice exploded from nowhere once again.

"It is now twelve o' one. Welcome to the new Monday Ms. Alexi. We are just getting started!"
