Alexi's Journey Continues

Welcome to the third week of Scribbles! This week we will be returning to "Alexi's grand Adventure"  where last time we learned that she was dropped from her bed into a mysterious white corridor, and was talked to by someone over a loudspeaker ...

A bell not seen, but clearly heard by Alexi, chimed away twelve times, and then all was silent. The floor and walls stopped shaking violently. Alexi stood, shivering, not at all confident in what was going on. The voice began to talk again, but this time the walls and floors remained still.

"You seem a bit frightened, Alexi. Don't be. You are completely safe. We have taken you here for your enjoyment, so please, sit down and enjoy the ride."

"Ride?" Alexi mouthed.

Before she could move, a pristine white-cushioned seat shot up from beneath Alexi's feet and swept her through the hallway. The walls whizzed by and her hair flew back as they neared a large red door, with gold knobs and hinges. The chair slowed enough for Alexi to look down and see that the floor had slid to the side to reveal a metal track on which the chair moved. The red doors yawned open and the chair moved forward again.

Alexi was beginning to gain her senses, and she now watched in awe as the chair swerved this way and that, gliding effortlessly through a jungle. Alexi saw monkeys, snakes, tigers, and lizards moving about. Above her, to her surprise, was a crystal blue sky. The was sitting high in the sky, and Alexi felt the warmth rain down on her.

The track led the chair over a wooden bridge, past bright-colored flowers, and luscious green plants. At last it took Alexi through a dark cave. They stopped moving, and Alexi froze in her seat. Then a beeping noise sounded from near her, and the blackness dissipated into a bluish light. Just like that Alexi was under a glass dome. Above her swam all sorts of fish, sharks, dolphins, and whales. Sunlight trickled from somewhere even higher.

Alexi couldn't understand what was happening, and she was somewhat unsure of what was going on, but she had to admit that it was beautiful. Shadows of the sea animals crossed over Alexi, and she couldn't help but smile. She had always had a love of sea animals, dolphins especially. Now she could see them swimming past and then shooting up to the non-visible surface.

Schools of fish slivered by, their smooth scales reflecting sunlight at Alexi, who was now being whizzed away once again. This time the chair took her down a gradual incline into a circular, black room. Alexi was apprehensive, and she could hear something walking heavily around her. A blast of hot air made her jump in her seat. Her hair stood on the back of her neck, and she tensed up.

And that concludes this week as far as Alexi is concerned! Drop by next week to see what is going on, and be sure to share this with your friends. We hope you have a great Monday, and remember to stay upbeat and happy!
