Alexi's Grand Adventure Part 5

Welcome, welcome, welcome!! Scribbles is back fresh from the weekend, and so is Alexi! It's been two weeks since we last heard from her grand adventure so if you need to catch up we've got the previous part right here: Alexi's Grand Adventure Part 4. If only a quick brush up is needed, here ya go!

Last. Week: "What do I think?" Alexi scoffed, throwing her hands up in the air. "I don't know what to think! I sure don't want to be here."

Oper stopped pacing. You don't?" He stopped pacing. There was a tinge of sadness in his voice. It was less vibrant, less excited. "Do you wish to be sent back home?"

"I would certainly like that."

"Very well then. This way."

This Week: Despite the fact that Alexi didn't want to be in this strange place with a scientist who looked like he was from Ghostbusters, she, in a way, felt bad for the guy. After all, he had put a lot of work into this place, and tired of being here as she was, the images he had produced had looked stunningly real in her eyes.

"I'll admit it," she said as he led her towards a steel door behind a large metal box with lots of wires coming out of it and green and red lights lighting it up like a Christmas tree, "this place is really cool."

"Thank you." Oper sounded less than gratified.

"Well look, I don't want to be here, but I did compliment your work. The least you could do is be grateful that I didn't get mad at you!"  Alexi wasn't sure where the outburst, or anger, came from, and it shocked the couple. Then Doctor Oper spun on his heels, glaring down at Alexi.

"Oh, well thank you your highness, for the dazzling praise! It means so much to me as you walk away from the experience of a lifetime!" he mocked.

Alexi stepped back with her hands feeling about, unsure of her surroundings. "My family is more important right now!" she blurted back.

The doctor laughed. "Oh yes, they are more important. Until they brand you as a fool and walk away the moment you have just one ounce of creativity to brighten this world! So go ahead princess, leave this place. I'll find someone with a bit more gratitude than a three-year old."

"Says the one who can't take a compliment."

Oper turned briskly towards the door. "This way, your highness."

Alexi followed, stunned. She never expected herself to be so brash to an adult. Her heart pumped in her ears as she waited in silence while Oper fiddled with a ring of keys from a hook next to the door. He found the key after what seemed like an eternity and was about to open the door when a muffled sound that resembled something like a firework and a door being slammed shut at the same time, echoed down the hall of the fancy red doors.

Oper unlocked the door and yanked it open. "Get in!" he yelled.

"Why? What was that?"

"That," Oper said as she walked in and he shut the door leaving them in complete darkness, "was the Shark Task Force."

"Shark? Why are they here?"

"To destroy this place."

Well lookie there! Looks like the action is about to commence for reeealz!! That concludes this week's part of the Adventure. Be sure to stop in tomorrow for Creative Thursday!
